Q : Do I need to have passed my Theory Test before I can start lessons ?
A : No, you can start driving lessons once you have turned 17 and are in possession of a provisional licence. You can apply for the licence 3 months before your 17th birthday.
Q : How many lessons do I need to pass my driving test ?
A : DVSA suggest you need on average 45 hours of paid tuition and 22 hours of private tuition (friends or family taking you out). Everyone is different but usually 30-35 hours is sufficient to get you to the level needed.
Q : I passed my theory test some time ago but haven't taken my driving test yet. How long does the theory pass last ?
A : You have exactly 2 years from passing your theory test to pass your driving test. If you haven't passed within 2 years you will need to re-sit your theory test again.
Q : Is it better to do 1 hour or 2 hour lessons ?
A : It is up to you but it is generally acknowledged that you learn more from a 1 x 2 hour lesson than 2 x 1 hour lessons. At the start of each lesson we agree a plan for the lesson and at the end we go over what you have achieved during the lesson so this will take a significant amount of time away from driving. Therefore, a 2 hour lesson gives you a more time to achieve your lesson goals.
